Tante Elsbett's 90th Birthday

I created this card for Tante Elsbett's 90th Birthday on Saturday.
If it's "....terribly strange to be 70..." as in Simon & Garfunkel's song "Old Friends", can you imagine what it is like to be 90?

  1. Who is Tante Elsbett? 90 years means she should have experienced both WW1 and WW2. And all the other ugly sidetracks of humanity in between. She must be a very strong and optimistic person to have lived to this day. So A very happy birthday to Tante Elsbett!

  2. Tante Elsbett the younger sister of Joe's mother's. She immigrated from Germany to Canada and lived in Timmims, Ontario in the 50's. Her husband was imprisoned in Russia for 2 years after WW2 before they moved to Canada. She is indeed a very strong woman, her spirit is always high and playful. I just learnt that she has been widowed for 32 years.
